andi and josh RAIDERS MEDAL AT STATE TRACK MEET
Congratulations to junior Josh Quinn and senior Andi Morgan on their outstanding performances at the State Track Meet in Austin! Josh took third place in the 400m and Andi, in her third consecutive trip to state took second place in two events - 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles. Well, done Raiders! We are proud of you both!

THREE LADY RAIDERS COMMIT TO COLLEGIATE VOLLEYBALL TEAMS

Congratulations to senior Lady Raider Volleyball players Delanee Clark, Alex Lally and Abby Whitehead on their recent commitment to collegiate volleyball careers. Delanee will play for Texas A&M-Commerce, Alex will play for Purchase College in New York and Abby will play for Texas A&M - Corpus Christi. Congratulations, Lady Raiders!
SISD STUDENTS RAISE FUNDS FOR LEUKEMIA AND LYMPHOMA SOCIETY
The Pennies for Patients fundraiser brought in tons of funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The elementary campus brought in a whopping $5,747.09, with Mrs. Stafford's class raising $701.10. Second place went to Mrs. Bailey's class, who raised $522.68 and Mrs. Sirois' class won third place with $440.75.
The SMS campus raised $2,138.00 with Coach Navaja's class raising a total of $989.58. Well done, Raiders!

RAIDER CHAMPIONS
Special Olympics 2013
SISD students recently participated in the Special Olympics in Waxahachie in Track and Field events. Students were honored with awards the long jump, 50m walk, 50m run, 400m run and softball throw. Congratulations, Raiders!

SHS JUNIOR NAMED FIRST-EVER NATIONAL MERIT SEMI-FINALIST
Zach Miller
Junior Zach Miller has been named SHS' first-ever National Merit Semi-Finalist! Zach met the requirements to enter the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program. He is among the 50,000 highest-scoring participants of some 1.5 million program entrants. Of these 50,000 high scorers nationwide, about 16,000 will be named National Merit Program Semifinalists. Congratulations, Zach!

ANNOUNCING: SUNNYVALE RAIDER YOUTH CHEER
Open to all incoming Kindergarten – 6th graders (Fall 2013)
Registration Deadline: May 31st
SRYSA Youth Cheer Registration forms due by Friday, May 31st. Youth cheer is for the Fall 2013 football season. Forms may be accessed and submitted via the www.srysa.org website. A $10 registration fee will be required and may be paid by Paypal or check made out to SRYSA or cash. If you have questions please contact carolyn.baker@sunnyvaleisd.com

SRYSA 7 on 7 FOOTBALL
7 on 7 football registration is underway!
7 on 7 is a passing, no contact, fast paced style of football.  SRYSA will host a 7 on 7 league this summer for Sunnyvale students who will be in grades 2-7 next school year. All games will be at SHS. Please visit www.srysa.org to complete the 3 step registration process. The deadline to order optional uniforms is Friday, May 17. COACHES NEEDED!
For those interested in coaching 7 on 7, there will be a Coaches Clinic on Wednesday, May 15th at 4 PM at the Raiders Varsity Field House.

TAX RATE ADOPTION
Sunnyvale ISD adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's tax rate.
